General Conditions
The DDBT (German Association for DBT) has commissioned CPO HANSER SERVICE with the organisation and execution of the conference. Registration for the conference and confirmation thereof forms a contract between the conference attendee and the DDBT regarding attendance at the conference . This contract is based on the following General Terms and Conditions.
Registration fees for the 1st International Congress on Borderline Personality Disorder
Attendance at the congress is subject to cost. The practice seminars will take place within the framework of the 1st International Congress on Borderline Personality Disorder. A separate registration fee will be charged for these events in addition to the conference fee.
Registration for the conference and booking of services are binding for the attendee.
The fees must be paid in advance on the dates specified. Any bank charges will be charged to the payer.
Cancellation of Congress Attendance
In the event that you cancel your attendance at the congress and the practice seminars by 31 May 2010, the registration fee minus a processing fee of 25% will be refunded.
The attendee will have the option to demonstrate that the expenditure for processing is less than 25% of the registration fee. No refund will be made if cancellation is made at a later date. Please notify the conference office of your cancellation in writing.
Programme Changes
The DBBT reserves the right to make any necessary changes to the programme at short notice.
There will be no pro rata refund of registration fees for cancelled papers or changes to the programme.
In the event that practice seminars fail to take place due to cancellations by speakers, the registration fees for these practice seminars will be refunded. This will not apply – not even on a pro-rata basis – if the practice seminars are taken over by speakers other than those initially specified.
Loss of Name Badge
The full registration fee must be paid to acquire a new name badge in the event that the name badge, which at the same time entitles the holder to attend the congress, is lost. If the attendee is later able to produce the newly acquired and the previously lost name badge, the registration fee most recently paid will be refunded.
Liability of the DDBT
The DDBT is the organiser of the scientific conference. It is liable within the scope of the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Its liability - regardless of the legal cause - is limited to cases of gross negligence and wilful misconduct. The DDBT is, however, also liable for slight negligence if and to the extent that cardinal obligations under the contract are breached.

Each speaker and first author of a poster must declare his / her relationship with industrial enterprises when registering a contribution. This also applies to presenters invited to the conference. The DDBT publishes a form which is available for making the declaration. The form may be completed on the congress’ homepage.
The declaration made or the failure to make such a declaration will be published by the DDBT at the congress in an appropriate manner even in the case of invited speakers. The speaker and poster author attending expressly agrees to this publication on registering his / her contribution.
All speakers are requested to notify their audience at the beginning of every paper regarding their relationships with industry. Speakers are recommended to use the PowerPoint chart for this purpose: www.borderline-congress.org.

All rooms are equipped with video projectors (beamers) and notebooks with DVD drives. Speakers who require additional technical equipment (e.g. video recorders, overhead projectors, flip charts) may hire them at their own expense in the run-up or – to the extent available – on site at the congress office.
Hotel Reservation
Your reservation is only binding for the hotel if you have either guaranteed the reservation by stating the data on your credit card or paid a deposit for the room for two nights of the indicated hotel. If you have paid a hotel deposit the hotel will deduct the value of this deposit from the bill for your room. In the event of cancellation by April 20, 2010, the deposit will be refunded, less a handling charge of EUR 25. After this date the deposit will be retained and set off against cancellation fees.
In case you have guaranteed your hotel reservation with a credit card, all possible costs will be collected from the credit card institute. According to German law, any cancellation is subject to full payment without refund in case the room cannot be resold. Upon binding confirmation of your reservation, you also become a party to the contract with the stated hotel, which both parties undertake to fulfil. The length of time for which the contract has been concluded is irrelevant. Should the hotel fail to provide the room for which a confirmed reservation exists it must compensate the guest. Should the guest fail to make use of the services provided by the hotel, he is still obliged to pay the stated price.
