Congress Information


CME Accreditation

The 1st International Congress on Borderline Personality Disorder is accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) to provide the following CME activity for medical specialists. The EACCME is an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS), www.uems.net.

The 'Borderline Congress 2010' is designated for a maximum of (or 'for up to') 15  European CME credits (ECMEC). Each medical specialist should claim only those  credits that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.

EACCME credits are recognized by the American Medical Association towards the Physician’s Recognition Award (PRA).

The Ärztekammer Berlin has granted 15 points to the congress. The following points are given for each congress day:

01 July: 6 points per full congress day and 3 points per half day
02 July: 6 points per full congress day and 3 points per half day
03 July: 3 points per half day
 
The following points are given for the Practice Seminars:
Per Practice Seminar (90 Minutes): 3 points
Per Practice Seminar (180 Minutes): 5 points

Congress Language

The official language of the 1st International Congress on Borderline Personality Disorder is English. A selection of session will be held in German.

Letter of Invitation

The congress organisation will be pleased to send a formal letter of invitation to delegates requesting an invitation letter for visa purposes. It is understood that such an invitation is intended to help potential delegates to raise funds or to obtain a visa. This does not imply a commitment from the congress to provide any financial support.
Letters of invitation may be requested from the congress office no later than 1 June 2010. Please note that you have to use the application form, which will be published later, and that only applications that are correctly and completely
filled in can be processed. The application form can be later obtained from the website.
The letters will be sent by regular air mail. In case an express delivery is needed, the delegate shall order a courier at his / her expense.

Travel to Berlin

Berlin is easily accessible by airplane, railroad, and car.
Congress participants arriving at one of the two international airports, Berlin-Tegel or Berlin-Schönefeld, can reach the BCC Berlin or the city center easily. All airports are linked to the public transportation system.
Germany and Berlin have an extensive rail network with Euro-City, Inter-City, and Inter-City Express trains. An excellent motorway network links Berlin with all major German and European cities. More...

The entry formalities and vaccination requirements for the Federal Republic of Germany vary according to the country of origin. Insurance

Please notice that the congress fee does not include insurance. All participants should arrange for their own insurance. Health and accident insurance is strongly recommended and will need to be purchased in the country of origin.

Climate

Berlin’s climate is usually mild during the summer months. In July, the average temperature is between 20°C (68°F) and 25°C (77°F) during the day. Fluctuation between day and night temperature is about 10°C (50°F).
